The Diaz brothers have the biggest fan following in the world of MMA. Nick Diaz has always been a great brother supporting Nate Diaz during his fighting career. When Jorge Masvidal spoke about “baptizing” Nate, Nick did not like it one bit.
Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz met each other in the octagon at UFC 244 in the main event. The fight was one of the biggest fights that year. Jorge ended up beating Nate via TKO as Diaz’s eyebrow tore. The fight was a huge disappointment for the fans in the arena and around the world with the doctor stoppage. Masvidal also left the octagon unsatisfied since he didn’t get to “baptize” his opponent like he would have wanted.
In 2019, Nick Diaz decided to sit in an interview with Ariel Helwani from ESPN and spoke about Jorge Masvidal talking smack about Nate’s younger brother. “You wanna talk about baptizing my younger brother, that’s on you,” said the Diaz brother.
“I never had nothing disrespectful to say, but you don’t talk about baptizing my younger brother. So you’re already in a f*cked up position if you fight me,” said Nick on his possible fight with Gamebred. “You don’t talk about baptizing someone’s younger brother. That’s my baby brother, you don’t talk like that to nobody,” he ended.
Nick recently made his return to the octagon against Robbie Lawler after a six-year-long hiatus. Diaz did not look as sharp as he was but sure did pull some amazing crowd and entertained them at UFC 266. Both Masvidal and Nick have previously said that they won’t mind fighting each other. Do you think there is a possibility Nick avenges his brother’s loss?
