During your journey in the Settled Systems, you’ll pick up a good amount of loot, including weapons, items, gear, and junk. Even the most experienced players are guilty of hoarding items, a lot of which they don’t need.
This may not seem like an issue until you notice that your character is not moving as fast as they should. Every item has mass, and exceeding your inventory limit will result in being encumbered. Thus, you will need to unload your inventory every once in a while.
However, discarding them is not fruitful, as items have values you can capitalize on. Furthermore, smart inventory management will lead to a smoother and easier game experience as you will come across many items that you can get a substantial amount of credits for, which you can use to buy better gear and upgrades for your ship.
Thankfully, Starfield is filled with vendors and merchants who are more than happy to be your loot’s new owner, given that you can come to an agreement on the price.
