BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Active weather continues in Idaho as moist northwest flow remains in place. Many mountain areas have seen significant snowfall overnight while the Treasure Valley has had primarily rain showers. Additional scattered mountain snow showers are expected to continue into the afternoon with minor accumulations expected, spotty rain/snow showers are possible in the Treasure Valley.
Heading into midweek, quieter weather is expected to settle in Wednesday and much of Thursday. A few mountain snow showers are possible Wednesday, however, much of the Treasure Valley will remain dry with a mix of sun and clouds. Temperatures are expected to remain about 5 degrees cooler than normal through Thursday.
The next surge of more organized moisture is expected to arrive late Thursday into Friday. Temperatures will drop overnight into Friday morning and should be cold enough to see snow down to the valley floor. Right now, the forecast calls for 1-2" in the Treasure Valley. This will likely impact Friday morning's commute.
Moisture will continue to move in from the northwest into the weekend. Rain/snow showers are expected Saturday for the valley, mountain snow showers. Temperatures are expected to gradually warm back to near average highs over the weekend, possibly above average by early next week.
