Ada County, ID (CBS2) — The Ada County Sheriff's Office is preparing for critical maintenance that will affect the ability to call 911.
According to the Ada County Sheriff's Office, their public safety answering point provider (PSAP) will be doing critical maintenance on Friday in the early morning hours.
The maintenance will impact the ability to get through to emergency and non-emergency dispatch for 5- 10 minutes between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Friday.
The Ada County Sheriff's Office said they are taking extra precautions and steps to maintain access to 911 services during maintenance.
The text-to-911 service will be available and can be used by texting 911 with the emergency, location, and contact information.
If you need to call 911 during this timeframe the Ada County Sheriff's Office says to use a cell phone instead of a landline or voiceover internet protocol phone (VOIP).
